Paweł Świerczek – dramaturg, performer, producer, (neuro)queer activist. Since 2018 he runs an interdisciplinary project and collective Śląsk Przegięty (Queer Silesia), which aims at narrating and performing queer archives from the Upper Silesia region and animating queer community in the city of Katowice (Poland). The collective organizes drag/burlesque shows and workshops as well as various art projects. Śląsk Przegięty also supports the local ballroom community and the Katowice Pride. Paweł created two performance pieces based on Silesian queer archives: solo performance “Of Coal and Rainbow” (2018, Dirty Debüt at Sophiensaele, Berlin) and – together with Julia Nitschke – “From Ahead Our Time” (2022, Favoriten Festival at Theater im Depot, Dortmund). Currently they are working on the book “Archeologia Śląska Przegiętego” (“Archeology of Queer Silesia”) focused on the queer Silesian archives.
