Razi Uddin (they/them) is a filmmaker and visual artist from Karachi, Pakistan. Their work explores migration, identity, and personal stories, connecting them to the wider diaspora of the South Asian subcontinent. Razi's projects have been shown in exhibitions in Leipzig and Berlin. They were an artist-in-residence at HALLE 14 - Zentrum für zeitgenössische Kunst, Spinnerei Leipzig, supported by the German Federal Foreign Office, Goethe-Institut, and ifa - Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen. Now living in Hamburg, Razi began working with Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg through the Intro Hamburg program (funded by the Behörde für Kultur und Medien Hamburg). After this, they continued their collaboration with the festival, first curating the program ""After the Border, What Remains?: Stories from Pakistan"" at the 41st edition in 2025, and then joining the international competition selection team from the 42nd edition onwards. This year they also became part of the selection team of the Hamburg International Queer Film Festival. Alongside their film and artistic practice, Razi has led storytelling and visual narrative workshops at institutions in Leipzig, Berlin, and Hamburg. They are currently developing their first feature-length documentary, hand drawn animation “Gelb ist meine Lieblingsfarbe” and working towards their Identity projects, which include Ingredients of Identity and Layers of Identity.
